Miyako DeLucia （デルシアみやこ）は、日本生まれ日本育ちのカリフォルニア州弁護士です。現在は、主に日本になんらかのゆかりを持つカリフォルニア在住の皆様を対象に、エステートプランニング（資産・遺産計画）のサポートを提供しております。もちろん、日本と関わりのないお客様からのご相談も大歓迎です。
当事務所を開設する前は、契約弁護士として国際訴訟案件における日本語書類のレビューに携わったほか、ニュージャージー州の移民法事務所にて裁判所提出書類の作成などに従事してまいりました。もともと投資や確定申告を自ら手がけていたこともあり、エステートプランニングの分野には強い関心を抱いていました。この度、これまでの仕事にひと区切りがついたのを機に、本分野へ本格的に舵を切ることにいたしました。
遺言やトラスト（信託）について深く学ぶ中で気づいたのは、必要以上に複雑で、継続的にコストがかかるプランが推奨されがちであるということです。最適なプランは個々の状況によって異なりますが、私自身は「個人投資家」としての視点から、コストパフォーマンスを重視したシンプルなプランを好む傾向にあります。
プライベートでは、旅行、ズンバ、クロスワードパズル（手軽に楽しめるもの）、そして効率的な「手抜き料理」を趣味として楽しんでいます。数年前には、猫のイラストを描くことに熱中していた時期もありました（もちろん、当時はAIの手を借りずに描いていました）。

I am a California attorney who was born and raised in Japan. I currently practice estate planning primarily targeted for people who may have some ties to Japan. Of course, I welcome people who have nothing to do with Japan, too!
Prior to starting my own practice, I was a contract attorney, engaging in Japanese-language e-discovery for international litigation and investigation involving large Japanese companies. I also did some legal work as a contract attorney for an immigration law firm in New Jersey, drafting legal memos, motions, briefs, etc. to be submitted to the immigration courts. Having always managed my own investments and tax returns, I have long held a strong interest in estate planning. Recently, as my previous professional commitments drew to a natural close, I decided to take the leap and dedicate myself fully to this field.
In studying wills and trusts in depth, I have noticed that clients are often steered toward complex plans that require ongoing, expensive costs. While the ideal plan varies based on each individual's unique situation, my background as a personal investor leads me to favor simple, cost-effective solutions.
Outside of my legal practice, I enjoy traveling, Zumba, solving crossword puzzles (the straightforward ones!), and efficient, low-effort cooking. A few years ago, I also went through a phase of being completely absorbed in drawing cat illustrations—naturally, back then, it was all done without any AI assistance.
